Welcome to the Eternal City! It is no wonder that Rome has gotten this name. Rome has a fascinating blend of old and new.
Many people are drawn to Rome because of the enormous amount of art and culture that the city has to offer and which witness Rome's powerful history. Rome has been known as Caput Mundi, the capital of the world, for centuries. No wonder, if you look back at the great power of the Roman Republic and Roman Empire. Not to forget the Roman Catholic Church, that made Rome the heart of Christianity for almost 2000 years. 

Rome may be the richest city in the world when it comes to memories. Colosseum, Pantheon, the Vatican and the Spanish steps, make it all alone worth a visit. Then together with the amazing food, shopping and the lively people and atmosphere of the city, Rome will always make you come back for more.

Rome is the capital of Italy. With almost 3 million inhabitants, it also makes it the largest in Italy. It is situated in the region of Lazio in the central part of the country.
Rome was founded on the banks of the river Tiber, on the famous seven hills: Palatine, Aventine, Capitol, Quirinal, Viminal, Esquiline and Caelian hill. The seven hills are all situated on the eastern side of the river, the heart of the city. Except the seven historical hills, Rome today also includes: Gianicolo, Pincio, Monte Mario, Monte Parioli, Monte Sacro and Monte Verde hill.

According to the tradition Rome was founded 21th of April 753 BC, and ever since the city has played an important Role in Italy and Europe. We are talking about almost 3000 years of history!

Today Rome is still a timeless city, an important and dynamic metropolis with three universities. Over 20 million people choose to visit the city every year. Every district is like a city itself. So how much time should you spend in Rome? As the Italian writer Silvio Negro, said: “A lifetime is not enough”. Besides the world famous art and monuments, Rome and Italy is world known for its wonderful cuisine and great wines, Italian fashion, the best coffee and ice cream in the world. What else can you ask for?

And if you want to escape from the city life for a day, there are beautiful surroundings just a short car, bus or boat ride away. You can visit interesting places like Ostia Antica, Rome's ancient harbour . The ones more interested in the ocean choose Lido di Ostia with its beaches, packed with the locals during the hot summer. Or why not go to Tivoli, and visit the beautiful Villa d'Este or Hadrian's ancient villa, and while you're at it make a stop in Frascati and taste one of the most famous wines of the area. Maybe you will take the chance to visit the Beautiful Lake of Bracciano, where Tom Cruise got married to Katie.

Whatever you choose to do, Rome´s people are born to enjoy life and Rome will most certainly satisfy all your senses-it will be pure pleasure. Here you can really experience “La Dolce Vita”, the sweet life!
