Rome's biggest airport is situated about 30 km south-east of the city centre.
The airport has passenger traffic of approximately 30 million per year and opens daily 24 hours.

Since the 25th October 2009, Rome Leonardo da Vinci Fiumicino Airport has changed the terminals` sign system from letters to numbers. This has been done to better distinguish the terminal areas from the boarding areas.

Both Fiumicino and Ciampino airport will, since July 2008, provide disabled or reduced mobility passengers with free assistance on request. When making a flight reservation, the passenger have to inform the airline company , which they will travel with at that time. The reservation must be done within 48 hours of the flight.
